Anticipation is mounting as we begin the month-long countdown to October 18 – the day entrepreneur.com publishes the Great Place to Work® Rankings: 2011 Best Small and Medium Workplaces. While we can’t announce who has made the list just yet, we can give you a sneak peek at what to expect from the nation’s Best Small and Medium Companies this year…
Many of this year’s list-makers have taken a holistic view of the company goals and employee work-life balance. They’ve understood that an organization’s success relies on the success of its individuals. They’ve taken to heart that in order to succeed they’ve got to give some heart - through programs that show they truly care about and support employees. Consider these gems of perks we’ve found this year: limitless vacation time, access to the company airplane for emergencies and scholarships for family members, to name a few. Read more about becoming a great workplace: It isn’t so much what the company is doing, as it is how your leaders are doing it.
Taking it a step further
We’ve had plenty of companies show off their very generous benefits like 100% healthcare coverage and amazing bonus incentives but how about a program that matches dollars for each hour employees volunteer in the community? Now that’s taking it a step further: showing you care about your employees and what your employees care about, too! This is just a sampling of what to expect from this year's list winners.
Stay tuned for more sneak peeks at this year’s Best Small and Medium Workplaces in the run up to October 18th.
