How to Celebrate a Midweek Holiday
Everyone here at Great Place to Work would like to wish you a very Happy 4th of July!
A holiday that falls smack in the middle of the week can be tricky, and one could argue they were robbed of their long weekend. With no time to travel or properly plan for a party, I sympathize with those who yearn for a longer break.
However, there can also be benefits to a midweek holiday:
1. No need for reservations! You’re not the only one whose travel is restricted, so call up that restaurant with outside seating or the campground you’ve always wanted to visit. You just might find availability this late in the game.
2. Gas prices continue to go down. As an extra bonus, experts say Wednesday is the best day of the week to buy gas. Crank up the air conditioning, because this is good news for those travelling to local getaways!
3. Catch up on a little R&R. Maybe insufficient time to travel or celebrate isn’t such a bad thing. I personally think that hanging up a hammock and taking a nice, long nap is the perfect way to celebrate this year’s Fourth.
And don’t forget- Tuesday, July 3rd is a full moon. Get a jump start on your holiday by taking a midnight stroll and enjoying the moonlit summer night.
